Sinus disease is the infection of sinuses located in the bones around the nose, cheeks and forehead. These sinuses are the air filled cavities which are connected to the nose through a small and narrow channels. When these sinuses get infected with cold, virus or bacteria, these sinuses swell and the narrow channels or the airways gets blocked. Due to infection excess mucus is formed in the sinuses and this thick mucus increases pressure and leads to headache, facial pain, fever, dizziness, ear pain and so on. Sinus disease is classified into different types based on the severity and duration of infection.
